Teas have been loved for centuries, and it's no surprise that the refreshing, caffeine-free beverage is still part of many tea enthusiasts' daily routine. Recent studies indicate that, in addition to their excellent flavor, herbal teas provide natural detox. The high quantities of antioxidants contained in herbal teas may provide you an energy boost, offer impressive support for your immune system, and generate a feeling of relaxation and peacefulness.

If you aren’t an avid tea drinker, it might be difficult to know exactly what you like. Eliminate that guessing game by submitting your personal tea preferences with Free Your Tea. You will be asked about your caffeine preferences, personalization preferences, types of tea you like, tea types you dislike, blend preferences, and tea types you want to try. Additionally, if you decide that the teas that you got weren’t for you, then you can update these preferences anytime you’d like!

The Free Your Tea Subscription Box is an excellent opportunity to try out new teas. You provide feedback on Free Your Tea's website once a month after receiving your tea. Based on your response, Free Your Tea will select the teas that they believe you would enjoy the best. The benefit of tea box subscriptions is that you aren't required to go anywhere to stock up your favorite tea flavors.

It's amazing to have a service that recommends products based on my likes for a change. Instead of having to know specifically what I want, I sometimes prefer to have it done for me! If you enjoy trying different teas that are tailored to your preferences, then Free Your Tea might be perfect for you. In my personalized shipment, I got to try the Fruity Red from Free Your Tea. Background

Free Your Tea is a tea subscription service that provides unique teas to your preferences. You are able to buy your own subscription plan or you could send these teas to another tea lover that you may know. Knud Berthelsen, the creator of Free Your Tea, wanted to establish a place for individuals to discover and experience high-quality teas from all over the world, which he does through individualized tea subscriptions. Personalization is based on your tea tastes as well as how you rank teas in the sampler and subsequent teas, resulting in a genuinely tailored tea experience.

Free Your Tea's website is simple to use and addresses the majority of frequently asked questions. Moreover, you are encouraged to ask more questions; when I did, I received a timely response. At Free Your Tea, you can choose from regular, caffeine-free, and iced teas. There are monthly and quarterly subscription deliveries available. Depending on your subscription plan, the prices can average anywhere from $16 to $30 each month. If you feel like you will be sipping tea for a long time, then the yearly subscription will be more worth it in the end, you will only be charged quarterly compared to buying month to month. Delivery to US locations is free, but international locations incur a $5-$10 shipping cost.

The company values are:

  • They believe no two tea leaves are the same
  • They embrace the magic brewed between people over a pot of tea
  • They understand that the history of tea is steeped in tradition
  • They think outside the bag
  • They do business with the same bold character as our favorite teas

Summary

Free Your Tea’s fruit teas are always among their highest rated teas. This hibiscus tea blended with pieces of mango and pineapple is a great reminder why. You can even make some interesting cocktails with it.

The ingredients within this blend are hibiscus, blackcurrant leaves, pisces of pineapple and mango.

If you are a fan of fruity teas, then I might have found the best option for you. Ever had hibiscus tea before? You may think that sweetener was added the first time you taste it but that is not the case! Hibiscus is naturally sweet, which means you will not have to add any sugar or sweetener (unless you really want to).

I am a big fan of fruity drinks so it was nice to find a blend of tea that will satisfy my cravings.  Another advantage of this Fruity Red Hibiscus tea is that it has no caffeine. It is safe to consume at any time of the day without interfering with your sleep! This is a tasty and delightful ice tea! As the weather fluctuates, my desire for a hot or cold tea also changes. However, I assure you that no matter which way you choose to drink this tea, you will fall in love with the flavors.

Pros

  • In the first box, there are six samples to test
  • Your ratings and preferences are used to choose future teas
  • Teas with loose leaves that are delicious
  • The first box contains disposable filter bags
  • Pay monthly or prepay to save money
  • Great gift

Cons

  • In following boxes, you'll receive a month's worth of only one tea (plus one random sample)
  • You'll pay a little more as compared to other subscription services
  • If there is one tea flavor that you really enjoyed, you cannot purchase it in bulk
  • The packaging can be improved

Unless you're just looking to try out all the different teas offered, you are encouraged to provide more detailed preferences for different flavors, tea types, and ingredients. When your initial teas arrive, you are asked to rate each tea on a scale of 1 to 5 stars and indicate whether or not you would want to order the tea again in the future. They tailor your tea to your tea tastes and ratings.

When you receive your order, each shipment contains 4-6 2 oz. bags of personalized tea bimonthly, or quarterly, depending on your subscription. Prices can range from $16 to $30 each month, depending on your membership package. When opposed to paying month to month, it is considerably cheaper to sign up for a year and simply be charged quarterly.

  • $60 for two months gets you four teas that make 100 cups ($15 each tea).
  • $72 for three months gets you six teas that make 150 cups ($12 each tea).
  • $120 for six months gets you 12 teas that make 300 cups ($10 each tea).
  • $192 a year gets you 24 teas that will brew 600 cups ($8 per tea).

Shipping within the United States is always free, and each box comes with 50-100 drawstring bags. If you’re outside the US, shipping can cost around $5-$10 depending on where you are.

Results

The hibiscus tea has notes of sweet mango and pineapple flavor combined with blackcurrant leaves. Caffeine-free hibiscus tea helps boost the immune system with vitamin C and antioxidants. I decided to brew this cup of tea hot rather than cold but I have tried it both ways. Either way you decide to brew your tea, the flavor of the Fruity Red shines through.

All of their teas taste great both as plain cups of hot tea and cold brewed. Some are even better with additions like milk and sugar. Personally, I brewed this tea plain with no additives to get the full flavor effects. I have also tried this blend as an iced tea which I enjoyed a lot. I found myself finishing the whole cup of tea within a few minutes. It was so easy and delicious to drink, without feeling the jitters of all the caffeine.

Your preferences may differ, but generally they recommend one sachet per cup of hot tea, steeping 4-5 minutes. If you want to cold brew, they recommend 1 sachet per cup, and 10-12 hours in the refrigerator.

Benefits of Tea

Hibiscus tea is loaded with antioxidants and provides a variety of health benefits. It may help stimulate weight reduction, slow the growth of germs and cancer cells, and improve heart and liver function. It has a tart flavor comparable to cranberries and can be served hot or cold.

1. Antioxidant-Rich

According to research, hibiscus extract possesses antioxidant effects. Further research is needed to establish how this may apply to humans.

2. May help lower blood pressure

According to research, hibiscus tea may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure. To avoid an interaction, it should not be used with blood pressure drugs.

3. May help lower blood fat

According to studies, hibiscus tea may lower blood cholesterol and triglycerides in people with diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Some research, however, has yielded contradictory outcomes. Further study in the general population is required.

4. May boost liver health

According to human and animal research, hibiscus extract may help liver health by lowering liver damage and fatty liver.

5. Could promote weight loss

A few human and animal studies have linked hibiscus extract consumption to lower body weight and fat, but additional study is needed.

6. Contains compounds that may help prevent cancer

According to research, hibiscus extract inhibits the development and spread of various types of cancer cells. Human studies are required to assess the effectiveness of hibiscus tea.

7. Could help decrease the growth of bacteria

Some studies have revealed that hibiscus extract can inhibit the development of some kinds of bacteria. Further study is needed to assess the effect of hibiscus tea on bacterial infections in humans.

8. Flavorful and easy to make

Hibiscus tea may be created by steeping hibiscus blossoms for 5 minutes in hot water. It has a sour flavor that is typically sweetened with honey or flavored with lime and may be drunk hot or cold.

Bottom Line

After hearing all of these benefits about hibiscus tea, wouldn’t you want to take advantage of it? Not only will it be healthier than a coffee pick-me-up, but it might even taste better! (depending on what you like) As a whole, this hibiscus tea is great tasting and smelling. The mixture of mango and pineapple pieces elevates the flavors that much more. This tea can be enjoyed either hot or cold, and with sugar. I would highly recommend it to those who enjoy fruity teas.

With the numerous types of teas out there, it’s hard to single out a few flavors that you might like. Free Your Tea is a great way to test the waters and change your preferences monthly! If you don’t mind a little surprise in your life, then give tea subscription boxes a shot. Everything you need to brew a comforting mug of tea is shipped right to your door.
