Do you want to reduce your coffee intake or simply don’t like the taste of coffee? Try some tea for a change. Art of Tea Matcha+ is a blend of ceremonial grade matcha and functional ingredients such as matcha and sencha green tea. It can be considered as a healthy and flavorful alternative to coffee and regular tea.

Matcha tea is a type of Japanese green tea that is made from finely ground tea leaves. The tea leaves used for matcha are shaded from the sun for several weeks before harvesting, which increases the chlorophyll content and gives the leaves a vibrant green color. Matcha tea is known for its many health benefits, as it is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Some studies suggest that matcha may help to boost metabolism, improve brain function, reduce the risk of certain types of cancer, and promote overall health and well-being.

Matcha tea has quickly become popular and trendy, where it is often used as an ingredient in various drinks and desserts, such as lattes, smoothies, and ice cream that is enjoyed by people around the world. Continue reading below for more information about the Matcha+ from Art of Tea. Keep in mind that this is my own thoughts about the tea so take it with a grain of salt. Being a total matcha lover, I was super excited to see this flavor in my shipment. I tried to save it for last but curiosity got the best of me. I got a huge craving for matcha one morning and decided that this was the best time to brew a cup. The process of preparing matcha with powder is beautiful but can get tedious, especially when you want it right then and there. I was very grateful for this alternative.

To prepare this tea sachet, I filled one 8-ounce cup with water heated to 107 degrees Fahrenheit and steep the sachet for just 1 minute, as recommended. I was iffy on the 1 minute recommendation, thinking “that is not enough time for the tea to open up”. Boy was I wrong. The color and aroma activated almost immediately. The Matcha+ tea combines various green tea varieties to brew an ultra-vibrant cup. To describe the flavor, I would say it was grassy and sweet nuttiness but finished with a touch of bitterness with a pleasant savory ending.

Benefits of Matcha Green Tea

Matcha has recently gained popularity, with matcha shots, lattes, teas, and even desserts appearing in everything from natural food markets to coffee shops. However, not many people truly know the benefits of matcha!

Matcha, like green tea, is derived from the Camellia sinensis plant. It is, however, cultivated differently and has a distinct nutritional content. Matcha includes nutrients from the whole tea leaf, resulting in a higher level of caffeine and antioxidants than green tea. Matcha and its constituents have been studied for a range of advantages, including the ability to protect the liver, boost heart health, and even aid in weight reduction.

  1. High in antioxidants: Matcha has a high concentration of antioxidants, which may help to minimize cell damage and prevent chronic illness.
  2. May help protect the liver:  According to several studies, matcha can help prevent liver damage and lower the chance of developing liver disease. However, further research is needed to examine the impacts on humans in the broader population.
  3. Enhances brain function: It has been demonstrated that matcha improves attention, memory, and response time. It also includes caffeine and L-theanine, both of which have been shown to boost many aspects of brain function.
  4. May help prevent cancer: Matcha chemicals have been shown in animal and test tube experiments to suppress the development of cancer cells.
  5. May promote heart health: By decreasing cholesterol levels and lowering oxidative stress, matcha may help to decrease blood pressure and lessen the risk of heart disease.
  6. Helps you lose weight: Caffeine and other components in matcha can aid to boost energy levels and enhance physical performance during exercise. According to several studies, green tea extract boosts metabolism and fat burning, both of which may benefit in weight reduction.

Bottom Line

When selecting tea, it is important to consider the source of the tea, the type of tea, and the brewing process. Additionally, the quality of the water used to steep the tea can dramatically affect the flavor of the tea, so be sure to use filtered or spring water when possible. With so many varieties of tea to choose from, it is easy to find a tea that suits your individual needs.

I was lucky enough to enjoy Art Of Tea’s handcrafted Matcha+ blend. The Art of Tea Matcha+ is a great choice for those looking for an authentic, high-quality matcha experience. It has a pleasant grassy flavor and a bright and full finish, with a kick of caffeine to give you the energy boost you need. It's easy to use, and its versatility allows it to be incorporated into a variety of recipes. In short, it's an excellent choice for any tea enthusiast.
