How It Works

Trade Coffee is like having a personal coffee shopper. It has a Match function that will recommend coffee to you based on your preferences, which allows you to try new types of coffee beans.

You can rate and review coffee you’ve ordered on the My Coffee page, which allows Trade to record your preferences and give you further suggestions.

In addition to the Match feature, you can also browse individual coffees and roasters by name or region if you prefer.

The Match process works by having you take a thorough 7 question quiz that goes over the following:

Based on this information, Trade will choose the coffee that best suits your answers and suggest one of the three subscriptions, which include the following:

If you don’t want to sign up for a subscription right away, you can order a single bag to start with.

Once you’ve brewed the beans, you can rate them, and Trade takes this feedback to suggest your next coffee beans. The idea is to let you try new brews that are similar to your preferred aromas and flavors.

You can also choose how often you want to receive your beans. If you select The Hookup or The Classic, you can choose a cycle of 14, 21, or 28 days; and if you select Auto-Reorder, you can choose shipping options of 7, 14, or 21 days. You can even pause your shipment for any reason and adjust the schedule at any time.

Each roaster at Trade has its own schedule (listed under the description of each bean), and the shipment (which typically occurs within 24 hours of roasting) is handled by the individual roaster. Delivery usually takes 3 to 5 days.

Trade Coffee’s packaging is excellent: the coffee comes in a wide-mouth, lightproof bag with an airtight ziplock seal, which serves as a container and keeps your beans fresh for longer when the air is pushed out and it’s rolled tight.
